During the night, Moscow's missile and drone strikes have led to blackouts in multiple districts of the capital city, the Ukrainian capital.

A number of civilians were injured while inhabitants in the city's east were plunged into darkness and faced problems to water supplies, per reports from city officials.

Simultaneously, a young boy was killed in a different Russian drone strike in the southeastern region in the country's south-east, based on information from area administrators.

Russian forces has intensified strikes on electrical systems over the last fortnight, while the country's government has called for "real steps" from international partners to exert influence on Russia.

"The necessity is not window dressing but firm measures - from the US, European nations and the G7 - in providing protection systems and applying sanctions," he wrote in a online statement.

Officials stated that numerous aerial vehicles and more than 30 rockets struck Ukraine's energy infrastructure, characterizing such assaults as "premeditated" and against "critical infrastructure" as winter approaches.

Energy officials said Russia was "inflicting a massive strike" and maintenance teams were striving to fix the damage.

A wave of strikes hit electrical systems and civilian homes in Kyiv.

Several of the people wounded in the assaults on the city have been transported for medical care, as confirmed by local officials.

Area administrators said the metropolitan region came under heavy assaults overnight. A seven-year-old child died and three other people were hurt.

The attacks come after periods of air raids in the region, parts of which are currently controlled by invading troops.

The entire country is on alert for sophisticated projectile assaults, which are tougher to identify.

National leaders told journalists that Moscow was intentionally trying to destroy the electrical infrastructure, with attacks already affecting energy systems.

He said technical personnel and government agencies were bracing for additional strikes.
